Moving towards the end of the CD offers: a large assortment of music for keyboard instruments, mostly the piano, in seven installments (each with 30-40 discs): six according to the composer, plus one box of collection CDs arranged by performer.

At the keyboard: offer #20, in seven parts
July 5, 2016Instrumental music, mostly large-scale
July 3, 2016… and not featuring the piano. The latest collection of CDs from Las Casas Zwicky, as I move through the classical music recordings. Still to come are two gigantic collections, of chamber music and music featuring the piano (yes, they overlap, annoyingly). Meanwhile, a tiny assortment of recordings with instruments other than the piano, and then a bunch of large-scale instrumental works, mostly symphonies. This is offer #19, Instrumental, in two boxes, which can be asked for separately or together.
Vocal music: two offers
July 2, 2016Now attacking the classical music CDs, bit by bit. Two huge categories (piano music and chamber music), one large one (symphonies), and a smaller collection of vocal music, which I’ve divided into two collections of about 25 discs each, now on offer: #17, small-scale works (songs, lieder), and #18, larger-scale works (up to opera size).
CD surprise boxes
July 1, 2016For several days, Kim Darnell and I have been laboring on the great bulk of my music CDs, from several locations in the two condos. Offers for relatively small focused collections went out earlier; now we are coping with three huge collections, labeled for internal purposes as Pop / Rock, Quirky / Eccentric, and Classical. Even this crude categorization was problematic and difficult to make (there’s a lot of fusion music, and performers cross from one genre to amother), and even more vexed was the possibility of pulling out smaller categories from these huge ones. In the end, we just gave up on the first two giant categories; Classical has been divided, but still needs further work, not to mention many hours of copying stuff to my iTunes.
In any case, I have 7 boxes of P/R stuff, 4 of Q/E, divided on (roughly) alphabetic grounds (so they’re sort of surprise packages), each box with 30-50 albums in it. We’re offering these separately, but you can ask for as many boxes as you want.
Offer update, plus a new one
June 30, 2016For National Days Weekend (Canada Day tomorrow, (U.S.) Independence Day on Monday), a note on the status of the various divestiture offers from my households, plus a small focussed new offer.
Offers #12 and #13: singing hymns of praise
June 27, 2016More CDs on offer, free (other than shipping expenses) for the asking: two collections of hymns of praise based mostly in folk and gospel traditions: #12, singing in the various shapenote traditions; #13, singing in other traditions (black gospel, white gospel, mountain music early American music, contemporary folk, etc.).
Offer #11: funny stuff
June 27, 2016More things you can get free in the mail (well, you pay for shipping): this time, about 40 CD albums of comedy and humor, from Shelley Berman, Beyond the Fringe, Bob and Ray, the Bobs, and the Bonzo Dog Band to Allan Sherman, the Smothers Brothers, the best of This American Life, and the best of Wait Wait… Don’t Tell Me (both from public radio in the U.S.).
Offer #10: operas and oratorios
June 26, 2016Only 13 of them, but they come in multiple discs, mostly with librettos, so the package is bulky.
As before, the offer comes as a package, all or nothing: we’re ready to mail out a package for the cost of mailing and no more. If you want the collection, SEND E-MAIL to both me and Kim Darnell (who manages the mailing): arnold.zwicky@gmail.com and drdcrunk.gmail.com . With your postal address. PLEASE PLEASE don’t reply as a Facebook comment or message or a WordPress comment, since this offer is going out in multiple places.
Two diverse offers
June 26, 2016The divestment project continues. In the most recent development, Kim Darnell and I have assembled CDs from four different sources, have begun putting them into (admittedly somewhaty eccentric) categories, alphabetizing them, and checking them against tracks on my iTunes. One small collection is now ready for shipping out. Meanwhile, we uncovered a trove of linguistics media material at Staunton Ct. These will be offers #8 (gay CDs) and #9 (linguistics VHS tapes, DVDs, and a video).
Offer offer offer offer
June 24, 2016More offers from the Zwicky condos of Palo Alto. The offers come as packages: we’re ready to mail out a package for the cost of mailing and no more. If you want one of these collections, SEND E-MAIL to both me and Kim Darnell (who manages the mailing): arnold.zwicky@gmail.com and drdcrunk.gmail.com . With your postal address.
