Passed on by several Facebook friends, a superhero parody by Kerry Callen, with Wonder Woman dealing with the jiggle problem:
Not a problem Superman has.

Discovered while loooking for something else, a piece of brocabulary (involving portmanteaus or puns on the informal noun bro, roughly ‘buddy’ when first taken in from black street speech and then extended to a man of a certain type and then to any man) that I hadn’t encountered before: bro-job (or brojob or bro job), to refer to fellatio involving two men who identify as straight. A play on blow job. And it takes us, once again, into the world of sex between men who identify as straight.
(Men’s bodies and practices involving them.)
The latest Daily Jocks ad is an offer of Mystery Underwear, with the model apparently about to snap the strap of his jock:
But he might be doing a cock-tease display, suggesting that he might use the strap to pull his jockstrap down — a jockstrap counterpart to pulling underwear down on one side. Or he might be about to snap the strap as a way of calling attention to the package at the center of his jockstrap.
In any case: the ad copy:
One of our Most Popular Shopping Events has started! We’re offering the first 100 people the opportunity to purchase Mystery Underwear for $14.95.
Snap up those cut-price skivvies!
In the December 14th New Yorker, this cartoon by Liam Francis Walsh:
A Russian doll, from a set of nesting dolls, is unwrapping a Christmas gift box, from a set of nested gift boxes. Lovely wordless cartoon, though of course it depends on your recognizing Russian dolls.
In the Goings On About Town section of the December 14th New Yorker, this fine photo (by Charlie Engman) of an intense Dev Hynes, in dreadlocks and a black leather ballcap, kneeling, one leg splayed out, cradling his cello.
Yesterday’s Bizarro, with a POP (phrasal overlap portmanteau):
(Dan Piraro says there’s just one of his secret symbols in this cartoon: the eyeball. For an explanation, see this Page.)
In any case: Victoria’s Secret (the women’s underwear stores) + secret agent (or maybe Secret Agent, the Joseph Conrad novel or any number of films and tv shows with that name).
(Lots of gay sex stuff in here, so use your judgment.)
The most recent Daily Jocks ad:
BCNÜ have launched their all new Varsity collection of sports tanks and shorts!
The slick, sporty gear has been designed for the active man, with form-fitting contouring and mesh paneling for extra breathability.
Both tanks and shorts are made from polyester and elastane fabric and come in 3 color styles so you can match up your complete workout look!
The ad inspired me to write a fantasy short story, in the form of (relatively) long-line free verse.
On the website for Instinct magazine (aimed at gay men) on the 6th, a piece “‘Dirty Paws’ Is The Animated Gay Werewolf Boyfriend Movie We Need”:
Karina Farek wrote, directed, and animated Dirty Paws as her thesis film for her BFA in Animation at the School of Visual Arts! [in NYC]
Check out this adorable peek at what it would be like to have a werewolf boyfriend on the night of the full moon!
A very sweet film, only 5 minutes long.
Farek has managed to make the two characters believably, even identifiably, gay with some subtlety.
From a Facebook friend, this dog cartoon by New Yorker artist Charles Barsotti for Christmas:
The Christmas connection: who’s been naughty and who’s been nice.
Barsotti (who died last year, after doing nearly 1400 cartoons for the New Yorker) did an enormous number of dog cartoons, reliably showing great sympathy for the dogs — many of them puppies, as here, and some of those weeping , as here.
(Not much about language, but quite a lot about sex in Gayland, the fantasy world of gay porn, with discussion of man-man sex in plain language. No officially X-rated images, but quite a few that skirt the line. Not for kids or the sexually modest.)
Not long ago I came across the Black Balled series of gay porn flicks (eight so far), in which a group (a gang, in one sense) of 8 to 10 black men gangbang a white guy (the target). The market for gay porn is mostly white guys, so the appeal here is, first of all, a pig bottom fantasy; and, then, a fantasy of being taken by hypermasculine men (given the belief that black guys are intrinsically more masculine than white guys and the belief that working-class guys are intrinsically more masculine than middle-class guys; the gangs are working class and the targets mostly middle class).
