This is not only Pride day in many major cities, San Francisco included, but it’s also the birthday of Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou, known professionally as George Michael, born 6/25/63 — Saint George of the Beverly Tearoom, the patron saint of parks at night. Saint George of the BT (as he has become familiarly known) is also celebrated on his Day of Erection, April 7th, commemorating April 7th, 1998, when he was arrested and publicly shamed for his sexual activities in public places, but then, through his defiant music, rose from the dirt to become a King of the Queers.
Today we sing to Saint George, who went down on his knees for all of us and offered his body to all of us.
Well, that’s the sense Ruthie (in One Big Happy) makes of an expression unfamiliar to her, and she’s indignant on behalf of the pigeon:

In writing yesterday’s posting on MLB Pride logos, I intended to type the name Aric Olnes, but anticipated the S at the end of Olnes in typing Aric, and so typed

Aris = Ares (Greek god of war) + Eris (Greek goddess of discord)
Yesterday it was the logos of Major League Baseball teams. Today it’s London Transport, in a story today from the UK’s PinkNews, featuring this photo:

Mayor of London Sadiq Khan declares ‘love is love’ as tube stations get a rainbow makeover
… including the logos for all the Major League Baseball teams, available through the MLB clothing site in caps and shirts. Apparently the line of clothing came out in 2015, but I missed it — and then Aric Olnes posted the SF Giants Pride logo on Facebook today:
