The news for penises: Wanksy

April 10, 2017

This is old news, but (I think) evergreen, about the graffiti artist who styles himself as Wanksy (wank + Banksy: on masturbatory wank, see this posting; Banksy is the celebrated British graffiti artist) and identifies himself as a “road artist” — someone whose canvas is the roads of greater Mancherster (England), where he uses yellow chalk to create cartoon penises around potholes. A simple example:

The trophy boys park the beef bus in tuches town

April 9, 2017

(The title tells the story. Racy topic, unquestionably alluding to hard-core mansex, but indirectly and playfully. Use your judgment.)

The Steam Room Stories video that came by me yesterday morning: “Trophy Boys”, in which two good-looking, ripped gay men complain about being treated as pieces of meat, as just their bulging muscles and big dicks. There are several twists in this short scene (which you can watch here), but here I’m going to focus on the title and on one of the men’s complaints about the men who pick him up as their trophy boy:

It’s dinner, drinks, and back to their place to park the beef bus in tuches town.

(referring to insertive anal intercourse). Playful alliteration in beef bus and tuches town, — the characters in SRS are given to fanciful indirect references to all matters sexual — and then there are the specific items beef, tuches, and of course trophy in trophy boy.

The Bronzed Horseman

April 8, 2017

(Racy allusions, but nothing hardcore. Use your judgment.)

Yesterday’s Daily Jocks ad (with a caption of mine):

(#1)

Pink X marks the
Spot of furtive mansex in the
Shadow of the highway, a dirty
Substreet trickland, where
Simon worshipped daily until the

Boys bronzed him,
Wrapped his package in
Lime green and red,
Mounted him on the
Pink X as a symbol of their
Delicious depravity.

Not the first time an underwear model has been bronzed.

snatch

April 8, 2017

(Plain sex talk of several kinds, not for kids or the sexually modest.)

Yesterday’s morning name, and it was clear to me when I woke up that this was the vulgar sexual noun snatch ‘woman’s genitals’. and not the grabbing snatch or the stealing / kidnapping snatch or the weightlifting snatch — but then it turns out they’re all related.

Annals of normalization: on the Santa Claus watch

April 7, 2017

From HuffPo on the 4th, this advance announcement about a Christmas book, “Santa Claus Will Be A Gay Black Man In A New Children’s Book: He’ll also be married to a white man”, by Curtis M. Wong:

Get ready to see Santa Claus in a new (and refreshingly diverse) light this holiday season, courtesy of a forthcoming parody children’s book.

On March 28, publisher Harper Design announced plans to release Santa’s Husband, which re-casts Kris Kringle as a black man in an interracial, same-sex relationship. Slated for an October release, the book will follow Santa’s life in the North Pole, except in this version, he’ll have a white husband who fills in for him at shopping malls around the world.

The baby and the little kid (part 1)

April 7, 2017

Not about language, but about my life. In photographs from over 70 years ago. Partly in response to a request from a friend on Facebook to post baby photos, partly as part of a project to post more family photos for my grand-daughter Opal.

Three: a photo of me as a newborn in 1940, with my young and delighted parents; then a page of four snapshots of me as a baby; and another page of 4 of me as a little kid. More to come.

Hail to the Hyena-in-Chief

April 6, 2017

In my “presidential pet” posting yesterday, I suggested that a hyena would be the best pet for POTUS. This morning I realized that that choice would be particularly apt, since it’s entirely possible that POTUS is a hyena, probably a cross between a spotted hyena and a striped hyena, so it would only be right for him to be with one of his own kind, to become the Hyena-in-Chief, the Supreme Hyena.

The Congressional Brain Injury Task Force

April 6, 2017

The U.S. has such a thing, and its name is a compound with three possibly relevant parsings into constituents (for in the glosses conveys something like ‘to investigate’):

(1)  [ Congressional ]  [ [ Brain Injury ] [ Task Force ] ]

‘ a task force, associated with Congress, for brain injury‘

(2)  [ [ Congressional Brain ]  [ Injury ] ] [ Task Force ]

‘a task force for injury to the Congressional brain‘

(3)  [ [ Congressional ] [ Brain Injury ] ] [Task Force ]

‘a task force for Congressional brain injury‘

(1) is the intended reading. (2) has an entertaining sense involving a Congressional brain, a brain that Congress has (or is otherwise associated with). (3) involves (a) brain injury that is associated in some way with Congress. I’m much taken with readings (2) and (3), especially (2), which reminded me of the October 1980 Doonesbury sequence “The Mysterious World of Reagan’s Brain”.

The intended reading is entirely clear, but sportive readers will play with the alternatives

Pick your Presidential pet

April 5, 2017

Pat Byrnes has been on an extended POTUS run in the New Yorker‘s daily cartoons. Today’s offering shows us Presidential Pick-A-Pet:

“A pet always boosts a President’s approval rating.”

A large black spider (perhaps a tarantula), a vulture, a scorpion, a rattlesnake, a rat, a hyena, a wild boar, and a shark.

Apparently, [REDACTED] is the first President to move in without a pet in over a century. In fact, they all had at least one dog (some more than one, and TR had a whole menagerie), though Harry Truman didn’t care for dogs (but was given them by admirers). Meanwhile, [REDACTED]’s family has apparently never had a pet, much less a dog. The man himself has a thing about germs and dirt, so he probably finds dogs dirty, disgusting, repellent, not to mention an intrusion on his space.

As for the pets, I vote for the hyena. Though I’m sorry to see that Komodo dragons and Tasmanian devils didn’t make it to the finals.
