The usual slogan

(Extensive reference to men’s private parts, occasionally in street speech, so not suitable for kids or the sexually modest)

From my 7/23 posting “Small worlds”, in an anecdote (from 1990) about my man Jacques and me:

to reverse the usual slogan, [Jacques] treats me as not only a great piece of meat but also as an especially wonderful human being. This is ridiculously sweet. Unrealistic but sweet.

The usual slogan is about men as meat. Some details.

Two senses of meat. From my 1/19/17 posting “Meaty matters”:

Yesterday, a posting [“From MeatMarket.com” (here)] about a fantasy agency supplying male hustlers, featuring two meat + N compounds: meat market ‘sexual marketplace’ and meatmen ‘men considered as sexual objects’ (as bodies as wholes, but especially as assemblages of sexual parts — cock, balls, and ass).  The interplay of two senses of meat here (the body, especially the male body, as a whole vs. the central masculine bodypart, the penis) led me to two joking uses of meat, in a Pat Byrnes New Yorker cartoon from 2001 (in which the ‘animal flesh as food’ sense of meat is central) and a piece of advice on the Usenet newsgroup soc.motss from Joseph Francis some years ago (in which the ‘body as sexual object’ sense is central).

The Byrnes cartoon:

Then from my 12/13/21 posting “The star boxboy”:

A piece of advice on the Usenet newsgroup soc.motss from Joseph Francis some years ago, directed at gay men: “Remember; you’re not just a man [AZ 7/26, or: not just a wonderful human being], you’re also a piece of meat.” That is, meat ‘a body … as an object of sexual pleasure’ (GDoS). So, as applied to men by gay men, meat can refer to the male body as whole (considered as pleasurable), taking in all of the bodily features that convey masculinity, including specifically male buttocks; or can focus on the primary foci of gay desire, the buttocks and the penis; or on the penis as the central focus (as in beat one’s meat ‘masturbate’).

Getting meat, being meat. Now there’s the question of negotiating sexual connection between men: what do you want as meat (what kind of butt, if that’s your desire; what kind of dick; more globally, what kind of person) and what are you offering as meat (again, what kind of butt, if that’s what you’re offering; what kind of dick; more globally, what kind of persona are you projecting). Jacques and I both found the American male fascination with dick size baffling, and then we were free to deal as we wished with the considerable differences in our dicks (in size, both within 1 standard deviation of the mean, but mine at the low end and so perceived as little, and his at the upper end and so perceived as normal and adequate though not remarkable; his uncut in the European fashion, mine cut in the American style). Since our bodies differed from one another’s in dozens of other ways, these were just more differences.

But then the characteristics of your affectionate and sexual intimates become especially desirable. Hook up pleasurably with a guy with various properties — say, long legs, a French movie-star face (Jean-Pierre Belmondo!), muscular thighs, a sex-sharp wheat-field smell to his body, an elegant uncut dick of a nice size — and you have a Hot Guy Model, a type of man you’re likely to find attractive right off the bat. Add intelligent conversation, a sense of humor, a fund of interests, and (I saved this for the final flourish) a commitment to a decent and responsible life — I know this last sounds both corny and abstract, but it’s the most important of all — and, if you can offer him your own menu of physical attractions (I was Callipygia Catamite, a magnet for topmen) plus a counterpart moral stance, then the two of you can work on building something longer lasting. Which might just be a loving but no longer sexual friendship, but could be a commitment to the rest of your lives together.

Or, of course, you can start with the good-guy stuff and the solid male friendship and have the blazing-hot sexual desire burst into bloom. That happens too. It’s what happened with Jacques and me (almost 50 years ago now), and the memory of the event still overwhelms me with pleasure. Since then, a guy who reminds me of J in any way catches my attention — not necessarily sexually, though that’s always a possibility.
