Latino meat baskets

Yesterday’s dinner order (big enough for that meal and today’s lunch): the Meat Basket Salad from Tacos El Grullense #1, in Redwood City:

(#1) The meat basket at El Grullense #1 (the Tacos El Grullense Grill in Redwood City is the first in a Bay Area family-owned chain of taquerias): beans, choice of meat (grilled chicken for me), rice, onions, cilantro, salsa, lettuce, tomatoes, guacamole, cheese, and sour cream in a crispy tortilla basket

Not what came first to my phallotropic — penis-oriented — mind when I hear about meat baskets. In the Latino meat basket department, what I visualize is something along the lines of Bad Bunny’s 2025 ad campaign for Calvin Klein, prominently featuring his basket, as here:

(#2) Smokin’ hot Puerto Rican meat basket

About the names. First, from Wikipedia:

El Grullo is a town and municipality, in Jalisco in central-western Mexico. … It is named for a color, used for horses and grass, called grullo, used as the name of an Hacienda established there: “La Hacienda del Zacate Grullo”.

El Grullense is then ‘someone or something from El Grullo’, like the founders of the taqueria or the taqueria itself.
