A posting on the occasion of my scoring my own copy of the gay porn romp Joey’s Surf Vacation (MEN.com, 2024), in which twink Joey Mills travels to Spain to learn to surf, but ends up mostly with endless sex — manual, oral, and anal, both giving and getting — instead of endless summer (though a certain amount of surfing does occur)

About the flick. It’s as hard-core as you could want, but it’s genuinely amiable — there are only four characters [the three principals plus TD as a kind of counterweight], and they slip happily from one encounter to another, each man offering his body to others in whatever ways suit him — and it’s carefully designed.
JM has scenes with all three of the others — in sequence, TD, DY, and TJ — and there’s a long scene for the gay couple, DY and TJ, together. Everybody visibly enjoys all the sex; JM talks about his Spanish vacation as getting fucked instead of learning how to surf; his final words in this video:

Along the way he fucks the other two principals, presumably because that’s just what a sexy kid does for his friends. A three-way is promised in a further video.
The set design is minimal but elegant: the Spanish villa has bright white walls and is otherwise all clear vinyl panes and other plain surfaces framed in minimal metal. The actors are asked to speak very few lines (a way of getting around their diverse native varieties of English, I suppose), but seem to have been coached to communicate unrelenting intense passions as if they were in a silent movie, with way-over-the-top facial expressions. This struck me as goofy when it first appeared — I was inclined to manufacture a soundtrack riffing on “Oh no, Mr. Bill!” (alas, giggling is powerfully counterarousing, while erection and orgasm are the very goals of porn flicks for men) but I quickly accommodated to it as a convention of the genre, eventually finding it charming; well, JM is simultaneously really cute and crazily sex-drenched.
I am reminded of the time some years ago, when some guys on the net encountered the singing of Edith Piaf for the first time and rejected her vocal quality and delivery style as stagey, utterly false. I doubt that you will find anyone these days producing anything at all like Non, je ne regrette rien or Milord, but those performances are truly fabulous. (I had Milord in my head most of my years at Princeton; I was, after all, just a boy from the docks, a shadow of the street, and an outsider among men of great privilege.)
