(deeply not for kids or the sexually modest: it’s all about man-on-man sexual acts, though the really hard-core stuff will come in a later posting; this one is mostly about lexicography, but even so, there’s a lot of guys pronging guys going on)
In this morning’s crop of gay porn ads, in a TitanMen store mailer, the charmingly titled (and apparently single-entendre) Joey’s Surf Vacation, with a dvd cover featuring a porn actor new to me, the boyish twink Joey Mills (paired with a familiar muscle twink, Dean Young, in a scene I’ll write about in a later posting). On to the lexicography, starting with various attested verbs, while working towards what would seem to be a fresh metaphorical verb surf.
What is known.
— NOAD on existing verbs surf (in metaphorical usages)
informal ride on the roof or outside of a fast-moving vehicle, typically a train, for excitement: he fell to his death while surfing on a 70 mph train.
move from page to page or site to site on (the World Wide Web): the device allows you to surf the net and send emails.
— an attested transitivization of the sporting / recreational verb:
surf (a beach) ‘ride the waves (at a beach); hence someone can surf Maui; a beach can be surfed a lot, can get surfed a lot; etc.
— an attested metaphorical use of the transitive motion verb ride, entries from GDoS:
ride (of a man) ‘have sexual intercourse with’ (a woman); sodomize (a man)’
That is, ‘fuck’; which gives us things like Joey rode Dean in the back room at the Manhole and Joey loves to get ridden. (As it happens, deliciously, the performers Joey Mills and Dean Young are both thoroughly versatile.)
What is speculated. The way is then open for the coining of a parallel verb surf:
surf (of a man) ‘ride something the way a surfer rides a wave’; then a specialization to ‘ride someone in this fashion’; and finally a transfer to metaphorical riding, so ‘have sexual intercourse with, fuck’
which would give us things like Joey surfed Dean in the back room at the Manhole and Joey loves to get surfed.
I rather enjoy the surfing image, more so than the riding image, in fact: how much hotter to get pronged by a surfer than by a jockey, or so it seems to me (but then we all have our personal tastes in these matters).
As far as I can tell, sodomistic surf (parallel to sodomistic ride) is unattested and so has not been conventionalized the way sodomistic ride has. But like other fresh, creative metaphorical uses, it would be understood if the context supports it, as here:
Alex is a total bottom, and moans ecstatically when he gets surfed.
In the next installment, we get to see a remarkably artful shot of Joey surfing Dean. (Porn stars do these things so we don’t have to, but can participate in them imaginatively.)

It’s characteristic of boyish twinks that they look really young, well into their 30s. Joey Mills is Matthew William Cooksey, born (in Pacific MO) in 5/20/98, so he’s 27.

Meanwhile, Dean Young was born 12/2/98, in Belfast, Northern Ireland, so he’s also 27 years old.
