Gender and sexuality in the comics

In today’s comics feed, a Bizarro on paleolithic heterosexual rituals; and a One Big Happy in which Ruthie reflects on projections of masculinity in men’s clothing:

(#1)

(If you’re puzzled by the odd symbols in the cartoon — Dan Piraro says there are 2 in this strip — see this Page.)

(#2)

Bizarro. The caveman cartoon meme, with a speech in classic Cavemanese (though Grok manages a correct form of copular be). Early heterosexual desire (Lork makes Grok “dizzy”) and bargaining for sexual favors (offering a pretty rock).

One Big Happy. The party guest arrives bearing a leather jacket that magnifies the size of his shoulders and upper arms (as so much informal men’s wear does). He takes the jacket off and is transformed into a slender guy, leaving Ruthie to wonder where the muscles went.
