News for penises: the Orgy logo

(Warning: mature sexual themes.)

Putting DVD discs into binders (and discarding the boxes), to reduce my DVD collection to something spatially manageable, has brought me back to a classic gay porn film, Christopher Rage’s Orgy (1982), notable for, among other things, its all-penis logo (plus scenes of men having sex, in every configuration from solo, with a soundtrack, to 9 in a pile):

4 letters, 6 dicks: in Gayland, it’s all dicks, all the time. The flick has 9 pornstars, one dick per man, though I suspect that if Christopher Rage had been able to find fully functional multi-dicked men, he would have cast as many as he could get. Rage reveled in cocks.)

For the hard stuff, you can study a montage of scenes from the flick on AZBlogX (“An orgy in 1982”).

Barest factual background, from IMDb:

Christopher Rage was born on October 14, 1948 in Oklahoma City OK as Frederick Crane Mongue III. He was a director and actor. He died on April 24, 1991 in New York City [of complications of AIDS].

Then on the Treasure Island Media site, on 11/15/11, Paul Morris wrote an appreciation of the man, in “Notes on Christopher Rage”, on DRIVE! (1974), SLEAZE (1981), OUTRAGE (1984), KISS IT (1989), with mention of MANHOLES (1985), FUCKED UP (1986), MY MASTERS (1986); there are a fair number of others, including RAUNCH 1 (1984), RAUNCH 2 (1986) and TOILETS (1985).

Also, on the Speedy Deletion wikia, these comments:

Mongue was widely considered the most distinctive auteur in gay film making, and his films, though often imitated, were products of a unique vision. Mongue revealed much of his private life in a candid Manshots interview (April 1991). When asked about his future filmmaking plans, he replied, “I don’t have anything left to say. I’ve always had something to say… I wanted to corrupt society one way or another by saying, ‘Try this…look at this…did you ever consider this? Aren’t you amazed that people do this?’ That’s the whole point of my movies.”
