Understanding genitals

Pointed to Alex Norris’s Webcomic Name — that’s its name — by Max Meredith Vasilatos (to choose her web name) some years ago, I stumbled on his strip LIFE DRAWING of 10/6/17 — about, in some sense of about, genitals — which I’ll display for you in a moment. But first I need to put this strip in context.

The cartoonist. From the comic’s page:

Hello! I am Alex Norris.

I am a queer artist from Swansea [in Wales], now residing in London, UK. I studied English Literature at University of Bristol, and after reading the greatest works of literature in the English language I went on to work in the lowest medium of all: webcomics.

After I graduated from university in 2013, I wanted to become a writer, and decided webcomics were a great way to get my art out to as many people as possible very quickly. I began my first webcomic — Dorris McComics. This was an experimental series where I tried to see what I could do with short form comics, often breaking the form and trying out different styles of punchlines. I then made two webcomic series for LINE Webtoonb — How to Love (a comic-format agony aunt series) and Hello World (a photo collage travel series).

Webcomic Name was launched in 2016.

The comic. Norris describes Webcomic Name as

a webcomic with the same joke every time (oh no)

That is, the punchline is always “oh no”.

The 10/6/17 strip. Finally:

Well, at least they won’t frighten the horses in the street.
