Porn titles

I get a giggle out of language play in “ludic locales”: headlines in science reporting, playfully named entries on restaurant menus, titles of gay porn movies, and so on. Yesterday I reported on Vivid Video compilations of gay porn, in particular Nutrageous and A Bronco Named Brad.

Now, for sheer entertainment, a few more Vivid compilation titles:

San Francisco, Here I Cum!: sex scenes ostensibly set in The City by the Bay; “4 hours of boys from the Castro” [maybe the dumbest title of the set, but a perfect pun on come]

Nordic Dick: big, buff blonds [just the rhyme, man, just the rhyme]

Oklahomo: “4 hours of homo, homo on the range!” [imperfect pun]

Strapping: big strapping (sexual) athletes in jockstraps [perfect pun]

Bear Tales: “4 hours of the hunky and hairy” (bears, that is) [assonance]

Gaywatch: “4 hours of beach bangin boys in hot vivid action” [first there was Baywatch, then …]

Backseat Boys: “They take it in the ass, but they love it in the seat” [anal sex, on the rich Corinthian leather of automobile upholstery: Backstreet Boys; tied for favorite of this set in my book]

Catcher in the Fly: endless blow jobs [a cheap shot at Catcher in the Rye, with the addition of a play on fly ‘opening in pants crotch’; tied for favorite]

I know, I know, I’m easily amused.

Plenty of playful allusions (here and here) in there. Some more I collected in 2007:

Offerings from Raging Stallion Studios, November 2007: Pokin’ in the Boys Room (Smokin’ in the Boys Room), Humping Iron (Pumping Iron), Hole Sweet Hole (Home Sweet Home), Anal Tap (Spinal Tap), Best in Hole (Best in Show), Fist and Shout (Twist and Shout), Terms of Endowment (Terms of Endearment)

From the 2007 Adam Gay Directory: Ashton’s Eleven (Ocean’s Eleven – starring Ashton Ryan), Bang the Blond Slowly (Bang the Drum Slowly), Bi-Back Mountain (Brokeback Mountain). Blond Leading the Blond (Blind Leading the Blind), The Cockfather (The Godfather), Field of Creams (Field of Dreams). Larry Cotter and the Wizard of Ahhs (Harry Potter and the Wizard of Oz), Leather Weapon (Lethal Weapon), No Folks @ Home (Old Folks at Home)

Ok, definitely low poetry.

Surely “Larry Cotter and the Wizard of Ahhs” would have been better as “Larry Cotter and the Wizard of Arse”?

Although that would probably mark it as Terribly British.

[…] Note: The Economist is famously given to word play in its titles: playful allusions, puns (“Water good idea”, on an article about harvesting drinking water from fog — an imperfect pun on “What a good idea” that works better in British English than American), and, especially, perfect puns embedded in fixed expressions (“Parallel bars”, on barriers to parallel programming; “Pipe dreams”, on proposals for plugging leaks in the water supply). All these, and more, are in the same issue as “Don’t shoot the cucumber”. The Economist is definitely a “ludic locale”. […]
