A note on Mineshaft and Toolbox

On the topic of gay bar names, two stand out for the way they combine metaphorical sexual content (while also evoking high-masculinity social contexts): Mineshaft and Toolbox. Each has a phallic component (shaft and tool) and an omphalic component (mine and box), thus providing the whole package of anal intercourse in a single word.

The same applies to the Cockpit. (Can I hereby also therefore enter that for your contest?)

PS: Best crossword clue I’ve seen in recent years: “Cock fight”=”Tool box”
