And then on ambidexterity, from NOAD:
adj. ambidextrous: (of a person) able to use the right and left hands equally well: few of us are naturally ambidextrous.
Full ambidexterity for all purposes is very rare indeed (few people are equally facile at writing with either hand, for instance), but for specific purposes, many people show varying degrees of even-handedness. Using either thumb for messaging is a piece of cake.
