Construct-a-joke

It’s been another distressing news week. Folded in there was a story about Taylor Swift on the witness stand. So a diversion, an amusing competition:

Compose a follow-up to the following lead-in to a joke:

Tom, Taylor, and Jonathan Swift walk into a bar…

Post entries as comments on this posting on my blog (http://arnoldzwicky.org).

  1. John Baker Says:

Tom, Taylor, and Jonathan Swift do not seem to have enough in common to be a promising lead in for a joke, at least not a joke without a complicated set up. The most promising approaches seemed to be along the lines of which one is the odd man out: Tom is fictional, Taylor is the only one with no rhetorical trope named after her, etc.
