Don’t put your cat in a hat

Today’s Bizarro:

  (#1)

(If you’re puzzled by the odd symbols in the cartoon — Dan Piraro says there are 3 in this strip — see this Page.)

You put the hat on the cat, he goes berserk.

Yes, another cross-comic allusion. From Bizarro to Dr. Seuss’s Cat in the Hat.  From Wikipedia on the plot of the latter:

  (#2)

The Cat shows up at the house of Sally and her unnamed brother one rainy day when their mother is away. Ignoring repeated objections from the children’s fish, the Cat shows the children a few of his tricks in an attempt to entertain them. In the process he and his companions, Thing One and Thing Two, wreck the house.
