Seasons Greetings

Passed on by Susan Fischer, this seasonal cartoon:

Gemma Correll on her Four Eyes strip, from GoComics:

Four Eyes cartoons are quirky (usually), sweet (occasionally), punny (sometimes) and mildly amusing (possibly). They also feature a lot of pugs, which can only be a good thing, really.

More information from her own site:

Hello, I’m Gemma.

I am a cartoonist, writer, illustrator and all-round small person.

I’m the author of – among others – “A Cat’s Life” (Te Neues, 2012), “A Pug’s Guide to Etiquette” (Dog N Bone, 2013) and “It’s a Punderful Life” (Dog N Bone, 2014). You can find out more about my books and comics here.

I publish my thrice-weekly “Four Eyes” cartoon at GoComics.com.

I also draw a monthly Skycats cartoon for the Emirates Airlines Open Skies magazine.

My illustration clients include Hallmark, The New York Times, Oxford University Press, Knock Knock, Chronicle Books and The Observer.

Lots of language play.

Note: some commenters on the cartoon above complained that it should have been entitled “Seasonings Greetings” (or “Seasonings’ Greetings”), thus insisting (literalistically) on a perfect pun, rather than the imperfect pun Correll chose. Many pun enthusiasts especially value imperfect puns for their cleverness and, in fact, for the bit of extra interpretive work they impose on their recipients. (I will always treasure “With fronds like these, who needs anemones”.)
