I believe it would be a four-letter word (gasp!) that you can generate by removing the first two and last two letters of “Saturday.”

Damn! Too obvious.
And I misread the cartoon text, which is (I see) clearly about the word Saturday. I managed to read the child as calling about the word for Saturday (in an assignment or in the newspaper or whatever). Too much overthinking.

It took me a minute too, but maybe the author is so uncreative in her profanity that “turd” is still considered a bad word?

I’d imagine that a lot of parents would be unhappy if their little kid used turd.
The cartoonist is male, though the (fictional) Homework Hotline Lady is of course female.
