Today’s Zippy:
Aged Zippy and ageless Zippy.
Three points of many: the placename Kayenta (Bill Griffith savors interesting names of all sorts); “Are we having fun yet?”; and Jughead Jones.
Kayenta is, of course, a real place, though not a very big one. From Wikipedia:
Kayenta (Navajo: Tó Dinéeshzheeʼ) is a census-designated place … which is part of the Navajo Nation and is in Navajo County, Arizona, United States. The population was 5,189 at the 2010 census. Kayenta is located 25 miles (40 km) south of Monument Valley and contains a number of hotels and motels which service visitors to Monument Valley.
(There’s also a Kayenta in extreme southern Utah.)
On “Are we having fun yet?”: this is a genuine Zippyism, whose history is noted in this posting. Griffith used the phrase in 1979 and then rang a series of changes on it, turning it into a snowclone Are We X Yet? that’s been picked up by many others.
And Jughead Jones from Riverdale is indeed the Jughead of Archie & Jughead. From Wikipedia:
Jughead Jones is a fictional character in Archie Comics who first appeared in the comic in December 1941. He is the son of Forsythe II; … in one of the early Archie newspaper comic strips, he … is identified as Forsythe P. (Pendleton) Jones III. He has a white sheepdog named Hot Dog and a younger sister, Forsythia “Jellybean” Jones.
Jughead (sometimes shortened to Jug or Juggie) is the best friend of Archie Andrews. He is seen as lazy, obsessed with food, and generally uninterested in girls. He stands at 6 ft (1.8 m) and 140 lbs (64 kg) and can be identified by his long nose, half-closed eyes, “S” sweatshirt, and crown-like button beanie hat.

You say “Kayenta is, of course, a real place.” I wouldn’t be too sure. I missed how this “census designated place” thing got started. I live in one, as it happens, “Waimanalo Beach”, but it doesn’t seem to be a real place name. It’s on maps, and in the Wikipedia, but I’ve never heard anyone say it, nor seen it on any sign. It’s not the name of my local post office, and it’s not part of my address. Maybe we have some rogue namers in the Census Bureau.

Kayenta is real enough to have hotels and motels advertising as being there.
In any case, the intended contrast is between places whose names have some reality and places whose names are invented.
