Bearing the face for our era

In every era, in every milieu, there arises one man with the Face of Humane Wisdom.

At the end of the 19th century, in the European art world, this man was the French painter Carolus-Duran:

At the beginning of the 21st century, in the American tech world, this man is the Director of Accessibility at Amazon’s Lab126, Peter Korn:

(All that, and also the husband of software technical writer (among other things) Anneli Meyer Korn.)

Yes, these people are friends of mine; I even got to go to their wonderful wedding. Still, there’s that face.

(I believe Peter’s hair stylist is the great-grandchild of Carolus-Duran’s.)
