Postcard from Max Vasilatos on Saturday:

A play on “Shit happens” (with a close phonological relationship, segment by segment, to the model: affricate corresponding to fricative, vowel identical, then velar corresponding to alveolar). But with a (presumably) positive message.

(The card comes from the Evelin company, with a website at http://www.evelin.de. At the moment, the site is under (re)construction, so I can’t tell you anything more about it.)

There are other (positive) plays on the catchphrase “Shit happens”, including the name of a cafe and bookstore in Marshfield WI: Lit Happens (website here, Facebook page here). The name has been used for various literacy events and programs as well.
