On the banana watch

From the Daily Transformations site, passed on by Barbara Need on Facebook, a carrot dancing with a banana: two phallic foods, together on the dance floor:

Here the roles of banana and carrot are gendered, as conventional man and woman (the man leading in the dance and holding the woman in his arms). But of course two men can dance together too. However, the banana is especially suited to the leading role, since it comes with a peel that can be split and configured as arms, as in this image. If you want to make a anthropomorphized carrot, you need to supply it with arms that don’t come in nature — as in this thumbnail of the Holtville CA mascot (from the Chamber of Commerce site):

[Digression about Holtville, with an explanation of where Carrot Man comes into the story, from Wikipedia:

Holtville (formerly, Holton) is a city in Imperial County, California. Holtville is located 10.5 miles (17 km) east of El Centro. The population was 5,939 at the 2010 census, up from 5,612 at the 2000 census.

… The city was founded by Swiss-German settlers in the 1880s often through the U.S.-Mexican border from Mexico. [just had to get the Swiss connection in there]

… The city’s major civic event is the annual Carrot Festival, held in late January or early February. It usually features a parade, a carnival and other activities over a 10-day period.

Carrots are a winter crop in that part of California.]

Another approach to creating a carrot person: give them a carrot for a head. See the “preposterous [and very phallic] comic-book superhero, the Flaming Carrot”, here.

Bananas are all over my phallicity postings, of course.

Further on the banana front, this photo passed on by John Dorrance on Facebook a few hours ago, of bananas at a strip club (in New Orleans):

I have no idea what the story is here, and the comments on the photo are (so far) singularly unhelpful. Maybe it was Bring Your Own Banana Night at the club.

[…] Earlier phallic carrots on this blog: the comic-book superhero, the (highly phallic) Flaming Carrot, here; and a phallic banana and carrot dancing together, along with the Holtville CA carrot mascot, here. […]
